RICHARD HOLMES
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Richard developed a love for sports at a young age. A die-hard fan of the Tigers, Lions, Pistons, Red Wings, and Wolverines, he has fond childhood memories of sitting on the front porch listening to games on the radio late into the night.
He was a three-sport athlete in high school, taking a break from his first love, football, only to play basketball during the cold Michigan winters and run track in the spring.
After graduation, he moved to Colorado to accept a football and track scholarship to Trinidad State Junior College. Upon graduating, he transferred back home to Central Michigan University, where he continued playing football until injuries brought his career to an end.
He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Central Michigan University and later served as a Dean of Students in the Cherry Creek School District and at Bishop Machebeuf Catholic High School.
Coach [Name] has coached football and track and field at various high schools throughout the Metro Denver area and was the owner/operator of the Rocky Mountain Speed Camp — a summer program focused on speed, agility, and conditioning — for many years.
Since retiring from Cherry Creek in 2010, he has enjoyed serving as a substitute teacher in the district and coaching youth football. With a passion for coaching, teaching, and mentoring young people, the Fundamentals Camp has provided him the opportunity to continue this rewarding pursuit.
